Fire spreads through ceiling, almost destroys two terrace houses in Bintangor

BINTANGOR, Jan 20: Two terrace houses were almost destroyed in a fire at Taman Bintang here today.

The state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre in a statement today disclosed it received a call regarding the incident at 11.24am and a team of eight firefighters led by PBK I Hasman Bakar was deployed to the scene.

“The operation commander confirmed that there was a fire incident involving two single-storey terrace houses at Taman Bintang.

“The first house was 80 per cent destroyed, while the second house was burned 5 per cent in the incident, as the flames spread through the ceiling into the second house,” the statement revealed.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters using a 100-feet water flow hose with one nozzle, followed by overhaul works.

No casualties were reported in the incident and total losses are still being ascertained. — DayakDaily
