KUCHING, Feb 1: Four vehicles and a house in Kampung Masjid in Daro was razed by fire yesterday evening (Jan 31).
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre in a statement today, said after receiving the alert regarding the incident at 7.49pm, a team of 18 firefighters from Daro fire station led by PBK II Imran and PBK I Mohd Nor Abdullah was deployed to the location.
“The house was destroyed by fire along with four vehicles, and firefighters, assisted by the Daro Volunteer Fire and Rescue Force (PBS), managed to fully contain the flame from it could spread to other nearby structures,” it said.
According to the statement, no casualties were reported during the incident and the operation ended at 1 am.
“The cause of the incident and estimate of loss is still under investigation by the Fire Investigation Department,” the statement read.
Among other agencies involved in the operation were Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM), People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela), and Sesco. — DayakDaily.
