KUCHING, Feb 15: A two-storey house in Kampung Samariang Batu was partially destroyed in a fire today.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, they received a call regarding the incident at 3.42pm and deployed personnel from Bomba Petra Jaya to the location.
The operation commander reported that the incident involved a semi-permanent structure, which was 80 per cent damaged by the fire that is believed to have started on the second floor.
Firefighters then proceeded to extinguish the flame, and managed to stop it from spreading to other houses utilising a nearby fire hydrant.
During the incident, the occupants of the house were also not at home. — DayakDaily
