KUCHING, July 13: A fire had broken out at a workers’ quarters in front of Chung Hua Middle School on Lorong Peace 3 here today.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 7.32am, and firefighters from the Padungan station were deployed, with personnel from the Tabuan Jaya and Batu Lintang stations assisting.
The fire involved a workers’ quarters comprising a 10-room, non-permanent structure measuring approximately 50ft by 50ft, which was destroyed in the blaze. Two motorcycles were also destroyed in the incident.
Firefighters carried out extinguishing operations using three 300-foot hose lines fitted with four nozzles. Water was supplied from the fire engine’s pump and a nearby fire hydrant.
The operation ended at 9.29am, and no casualties were reported. — DayakDaily
