TATAU, Jan 16: A 10-door workers’ dormitory at Semanok plantation was completely destroyed by fire late last night (Jan 15).
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Tatau responded to the emergency at 11.46pm and immediately dispatched a team of firefighters to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the entire unpermanent structure fully engulfed in flames.
Fortunately, all 20 occupants, comprising 15 adults (eight men and seven women) and five children (two boys and three girls), escaped unharmed.
Firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control and fully extinguished it by 12.46am.
After confirming there were no remaining fire hazards and ensuring the site’s safety, the operation was officially concluded at 1.55am. — DayakDaily
