BETONG, March 28: A single-storey home, which also housed a home-based grocery store in Rumah Adal in Nanga Tiga Layar here was razed in a fire early today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to an emergency at 10.33am and immediately mobilised a team of firefighters from the Betong Station to the location.
Upon arrival, firefighters promptly tackled the blaze utilising a water source from a nearby pond, and successfully extinguished the flames by 11.30am.
Fortunately, all three residents of the house managed to escape unharmed, with no injuries reported.
Firefighters subsequently conducted thorough overhauling operations to ensure no lingering sources of ignition remained.
The operation concluded at 1pm.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. — DayakDaily
