Fire breaks out at religious school in Kuching, 32 escape unscathed

KUCHING, Dec 10: Thirty-two Mahat Tahfiz Usnul Madrasah Khatimah residents in Kuching escaped to safety after a fire broke out at the school’s kitchen storage unit.

According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they were informed about the incident at 3.51am today and deployed firefighters from the Petra Jaya and Padungan stations to the location.

The operations commander reported that the kitchen storage, with a size of a 15×30 foot area, was 30 per cent damaged by the fire.


Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire, and the operation ended at 5.18am after overhaul work was done to secure the scene. — DayakDaily
