KUCHING, May 30: Federation of Chinese Associations of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division will be giving their support to the blood donation drive taking place at Kuching South City Council (MBKS) tomorrow (May 31).
Its president Datuk Richard Wee said that members from the federation, especially from its Youth Wing, will help by donating blood in support of the drive.
“This is also to ensure there will be adequate supply of blood for hospitals to meet the needs of patients and any emergencies especially during this festive holidays season,” he told DayakDaily when contacted today.
Organised by the Malaysia Red Crescent Society Sarawak chapter in collaboration with MBKS, the blood donation drive is ongoing until June 9 when the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is scheduled to expire.
Wee together with MBKS mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng will also be handing over goodies to successful blood donors at the campaign tomorrow (May 31) morning.
Members of the public, who are healthy and eligible, are encouraged to participate in the drive and continue donating blood regularly to ensure the supply of blood at Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) is always at a safe level.
Donors are also advised to observe all guidelines and standard operating procedure (SOP) especially safe social distancing measures during blood donation activity.—DayakDaily
