Father of 2 claims trial to a charge of stabbing his wife for suspected affair

KUCHING, July 12: A father of two claimed trial to a charge of stabbing his wife with a knife after he suspected his wife of having an affair with another man in the Sessions Court here.

Bong Say Choi, 48, pleaded not guilty to the charge framed under Section 326 of the Penal Code.


Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga fixed August 13 for further mention of the case and released the accused on a bail of RM10,000 with two local sureties.

He allegedly stabbed his 31-year-old wife with a knife at a room in Jalan Tabuan here, at about 11.20am, on July 9, 2021 as he suspected his wife was having an affair with another man.

He was charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code, and read together with Section 326A of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term which may extend to twenty years and liable to fine or whipping, upon conviction.
