Fatal crash along Jalan KJD in Bintangor claims young woman’s life, two others injured

BINTANGOR, June 3: A woman died while two others were injured in a fatal crash last night (June 2) along Jalan KJD here.

According to a statement from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received a notification of the accident at 10.15pm, prompting the dispatch of firefighters from the Bintangor fire station to the location.


“Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that there had been a car accident involving a Toyota Vios hitting a road barrier.

“A female victim was trapped in the front passenger seat while the driver exited the vehicle, and paramedics assisted out the rear passenger.

“The fire department used special equipment to extract the trapped victim, who was later confirmed dead by paramedics, and her body was handed over to the police for further action,” the statement read.

Evely Emilya Epah, 22, was the victim who died. The driver, a 25-year-old man, suffered a minor left-hand injury, and the rear passenger, a 19-year-old woman, suffered a broken left leg.

Both injured victims received on-site treatment before being transported to the hospital for further medical attention.

The firefighters flushed the accident area and returned to the station once the situation was safe. — DayakDaily
