KUCHING, April 13: A family of six was injured after their house collapsed at Kampung Banting in Lawas earlier this morning.
According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 3.10am, and firefighters from the Lawas station were deployed.
“Upon arrival, firefighters were informed that a female victim was trapped in the house. She was not able to escape as a cabinet fell on her leg, causing it to bruise.
“The remaining family members managed to escape from the house with minor injuries,” said the spokesperson.
After extricating the female victim, the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) provided initial treatment before bringing her to the hospital.
The family is now seeking shelter at the house of their nearest relative. The operation ended at 3.59am.
The family consists of three women (with one senior citizen), a man, and two boys. — DayakDaily
