KUCHING, April 1: The names of policemen and Border Scouts killed in action during the Emergency would be listed on the Heroes Memorial Park Plaque at Jalan Budaya soon.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas agreed to this project when Malaysia Ex-Police Association of Sarawak members, led by their chairman, DSP (Rtd) Samson Michael Juan, paid a courtesy call on him today.

Uggah gave a grant of RM10,000 to the association to implement this initiative, where Sarawak Tourism Federation Heritage Development Committee chairman Dato Lim Kian Hock had much earlier agreed to the associationā€™s request.

The committee is the body overseeing the memorial park.

Meanwhile, new First Infantry Division Commander Major General Dato Md Din Abu also paid a courtesy call on Uggah today.
