KUCHING, Oct 17: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) needs to win big in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15) to have a louder voice in Parliament for Sarawak and to contribute to Malaysia’s political stability.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Caretaker Senior Minister of Works Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof said Sarawak plays an important role in ensuring Malaysia’s political stability.
“GPS needs to win big in the upcoming GE15 so that Sarawak can have a loud voice in Parliament later.
“Now we need an even bigger voice because political stability can only be achieved with the contribution from Sarawak,” he said during the Maulidur Rasul celebration at Kuching District Office yesterday.
Fadillah who is the Petra Jaya incumbent pointed out a stable political environment is very important to attract foreign investment.
In addition, he said Sarawak has the strength in terms of a strong government which focuses on administration, providing assistance to the people and also finding ways to increase State revenue.
Hence, he called upon the people of Sarawak to continue to be united in ensuring that Sarawak can influence the implementation of any policy at the federal level. — DayakDaily
