KUCHING, April 10: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth secretary-general Milton Foo hopes the Land and Survey Department Kuching would help to expedite the land titles application process for the residents of Sungai Apong Resettlement Scheme.

According to Foo, out of the 17 applications submitted to the department for the Temporary Occupation License (TOL), only three allottees have an issue because the TOL was issued under the name of their deceased family members.

“We hope the Land and Survey could amend the letter instead of issuing it under the registered name who was deceased, to the current existing family member’s name,” Foo said when met by reporters after a dialogue session with the residents of Sungai Apong Resettlement Scheme, held at SUPP Pending branch, here today.

Apart from that, Foo noted, they are also assisting the residents to obtain a Letter of Administration (LA) from the Amanah Raya Kuching in order for the current existing allottees to apply for their land titles.

“This is our ultimate end, which is to assist the residents there to eventually get their land title. We will help them to submit the form, and once they have submitted everything in order, we will follow up on this matter on their behalf,” he added.

Also present at the dialogue session were SUPP Women chief Kho Teck Wan and Kapitan Liew Huiniang. — DayakDaily
