KUCHING, May 26: Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas across Sarawak this afternoon.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuching (Bau and Lundu), Sibu (Selangau), Mukah (Dalat and Mukah), Kapit (Belaga), Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang. The warning, which was issued at 4pm today, will remain in effect until 8pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” the department said in a notice. — DayakDaily
