KUCHING, Oct 6: State Democratic Action Party (DAP) should focus on fixing the damage caused by the previous government rather than keep playing the blame game.

Its former assemblyman for Batu Lintang, Voon Lee Shan, said he was very disappointed with the actions of the state DAP leaders who, instead of coming up with solutions to resolve issues, kept pointing fingers on members of the previous government as an excuse for not fulfilling their election promises.

“Although there is a change of government, things have not improved much. The economy is slow and the people do not feel any difference between Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Sales and Service Tax (SST).

“It’s only a change of name as prices of goods have not gone down,” Voon said in a statement today.

Voon insisted that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government must focus on finding ways to boost the economy because this is what the people expected.

“People are not happy that promises made during the election have not been fulfilled. We have still yet to hear how the PH government is going to solve the promise of increasing the oil and gas royalties for Sarawak.

“(State DAP chairman) Chong Chieng Jen should by now be able to get the PH government to solve this problem,” asserted Voon. — DayakDaily
