KUCHING, Aug 14: Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi has declined to revisit questions about his political direction, saying he had already made his position clear.
After officiating the Completion Ceremony of the Road Accident Management System (RAMS) Expansion Course and Road Accident Data Reporting According to PDRM K27 Standards today, he firmly shut down further questions about politics, making it clear that they should not overshadow the main focus of the event.
“The other day, I already spoke about the direction of politics, and I think it is already clear. That is not for me to become the star,” he told reporters.
Nanta said he had already spoken about the matter previously and believed his position was clear.
“I do not want to go into it again. I think, why focus so much on me? For me, enough has been said about this. There are many more important matters, such as road safety and so on,” he added.
The remarks after Nanta indicated that he would not defend his Kapit parliamentary seat in the 16th General Election (GE16) but intended to remain active in politics, including potentially contesting the proposed Melekun State seat. — DayakDaily
