KUCHING, Nov 1: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at Kampung Haji Baki has revealed many big hearts from all layers of society in Kuching.

Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang revealed many people from all walks of life have contributed donations to the affected villagers and frontliners.

“During this period of EMCO here at Kampung Haji Baki, we can see that Kuching people have big hearts. We have received a lot of donations from all layers of the community.

“Yesterday, we received more than 100 trays of eggs for the villagers, and today I brought vegetables donated by the hawkers from the 7th Mile market.

“Later on, I heard, another group will be bringing cakes from Taka for the frontliners. Tomorrow morning, someone will be bringing 500 chickens,” he told reporters when visiting Kampung Haji Baki earlier today.

Touched and grateful for these kind hearts, Lo said this compassionate spirit is indeed an extraordinary thing.

With that, he sincerely hoped that the community at Kampung Haji Baki will be free of Covid-19 in the days to come.

Noting that there were zero cases recorded from the village yesterday (Oct 31), he also hoped that it will stay that way.

“So, I urge for all the people to continue their efforts in complying with the SOPs (standard operating procedures). Wash your hands often, wear face masks and always observe social distancing.

“Together, we can fight this Covid-19,” he said. — DayakDaily
