EMCO for SMK Ulu Balingian, longhouses among eight lockdown imposed by SDMC

KUCHING, April 27: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at SMK Ulu Balingian in Sibu from April 28 to May 11 and a few longhouses were among eight lockdowns imposed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to curb the transmission of Covid-19.

SDMC in a statement today said other locations which were placed under EMCO include Rh Likik, Ulu Pedanum in Pakan from April 26 to May 9, Rh Empeni Budom, Lubok Putan, Sg Meradong in Sarikei from April 26 to May 9, Rh Nyuka Lubuk Lemba in Sarikei from April 26 to May 9, Rh Selat Lai in Sungai Janting, Meradong from April 26 to May 9, Takang Uatau, Sungai Kertong, Meradong from April 26 to May 9, Rh. Giman, Skim B in Bintangor from April 27 to May 10 and Rh Kiam Ujai, Logan Entassan in Marudi from April 27 to May 10.

Apart from that, SDMC said the EMCO at Rh Bajak, Nanga Semawang in Julau has been extended from April 28 to May 4.

It was first imposed from April 14 to 27.

In the meantime, the committee said the EMCO placed at Mukah Polytechnic will end tomorrow (April 28) after no new Covid-19 cases were discovered following a second Covid-19 screening conducted there.

Meanwhile, 101 positive Covid-19 cases were identified on April 19 after a 16-year-old student from SMK Ulu Balingian became the catalyst for the Ulu Balingian Cluster.
