EMCO ends for 4 longhouses in Meradong but extended for selected areas in Saratok, Pakan, and Sarikei

KUCHING, May 9: The Enhancement Movement Control Order (EMCO) on four longhouses in Meradong have ended as scheduled today after no new Covid-19 infections surfaced during the second round of swab tests.

However, the EMCO which was enforced at a longhouse in Pakan, a longhouse in Sarikei and a college in Saratok was extended while one longhouse in Betong was placed under EMCO.

According to information from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the EMCO on Rh Likik in Ulu Pedanum, Pakan and on Rh Nyuka Lubuk Lemba in Sarikei has been extended from May 10 to May 23, while the EMCO on Kolej Tingkatan Enam at Saratok was extended until May 20.

Initially, the EMCO at Kolej Tingkatan Enam was to be in effect from April 23, 12:01am until May 6, 11:59pm.

On another note, SDMC said the committee has enforced EMCO at Rh. Empaling, Spak in Betong from May 7 until May 20.

Meanwhile, the EMCO at the four longhouses in Meradong and the one longhouse each in Pakan and Sarikei, was first imposed from April 26 to May 9. — DayakDaily
