KUCHING, April 7: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be implemented at Kampung Serpan Laut in Asajaya and Sri Aman Prison as well as staff quarters in Sri Aman effective tomorrow (April 8) until April 21.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has agreed to implement the EMCO at those locations after risk assessment exercise was carried out by the State Health Department (KKM) on the locality, which experienced a sudden spike of Covid-19 cases.

SDMC in a statement today said the EMCO at Kampung Batu Gong Siburan, Serian is extended from April 10 to April 23 after KKM discovered that there were still Covid-19 cases of local transmission occurring within the local community there.

Kampung Batu Gong and Kampung Chupak, both located in Siburan district, were initially placed under EMCO on March 26 for two weeks, which is scheduled to end on April 9.

In the meantime, SDMC said the EMCO at Kampung Chupak will end according to schedule on April 9. — DayakDaily
