MIRI, Feb 19: Following the implementation of Undi18, the number of eligible voters in Sibuti has increased to 70 per cent, said its MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni today.

This makes it a crucial pointer for Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) for the 15th General Election (GE15).

“Presently, we have 57,000 registered voters in Sibuti, and this figure includes first-time voters,” he said.

Thus, he said, the party needs to encourage younger voters to be involved in the political scene.

“It’s a new political scenario for PBB to tap into young voters,” he said when met by local reporters after attending the launching of the PBB Bekenu sub-branches annual general meeting (AGM) in Miri.

Lukanisman added that a working committee had been mooted to help establish its Youth wings.

“We hope by June this year, the Youth wings would be ready and officially launched during the PBB’s convention by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg,” he said.

At the AGM, more than 50 representatives from 35 PBB Bekenu sub-branches were present.
