KUCHING, April 21: An elderly woman and a teenage boy suffered burns following a fire that destroyed a workers’ quarters at Jalan Kidurong, Tanjung Kidurong, in Bintulu early this morning.
According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 4.42am, and firefighters from the Kidurong and Bintulu stations were deployed.
“Upon arrival, it was noted that the fire involved a non-permanent structure that was destroyed by the fire.
“The victims, a 59-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy, have been brought to the hospital for further treatment,” said the spokesperson.
It was noted that the victims suffered burns to their bodies and hands.
