SIBU, Dec 1: An elderly woman was found dead in the living room on the first floor of a house at Jalan Tiong Hua near today.
Acting Sibu District Police Chief Supt Collin Babat said the victim, identified as 68-year-old Wong Sien Lang, was found dead after a neighbour alerted the authorities at 10.05am.
“Her neighbors from the next door of a terrace house contacted the fire brigade who came and cut the room door lock using a bolt cutter and found an elderly woman lying dead with blood oozing out from her nose and ear,” he said.
Earlier, the neighbour felt worried after her attempts to call the deceased many times was met with no response.
“The investigating team found many documents and medicine belonging to the deceased in the bedroom. She was single and also lived alone. She was suffering from severe gastric illness,” he said.
Sibu Hospital paramedics have confirmed that the deceased died at the scene.
“The case has been classified as a sudden death (SDR) case until the autopsy results are obtained,” he added. — DayakDaily
