MIRI, Jan 11:  It was a scary experience for a 63-year-old from Kampung Haji Wahed on Friday evening, when he spotted a 3-meter-long python curled under his dining table in the kitchen.
Prior to the discovery, the elderly man was on his way to carry out his ablutions in preparation for his Friday evening prayer. He had just reached his home from Kuala Baram that day and was unaware of the presence of his ‘uninvited guest’.
Terrified, he immediately alerted the Miri Civil Defence force (APM) for help.
Upon responding to an alert around 8.21pm, a team of four APM personnel led by Corporal (PA) Mariani Eddy rushed to the scene.
It was believed that the python weighed around 5kg.
The APM team managed to secure the area in less than 10 minutes and release the reptile safely to the wild. —DayakDaily
