MIRI, Oct 7: An elderly couple were robbed while changing a flat tire after shopping for groceries in Morsjaya here on Sunday (Oct 6) evening.
According to a police report, the couple discovered that one of the tires went flat when approaching their car.
Never suspected that anything was amiss, they quickly put the groceries into the car before starting to replace the tire.
While working to change the tire, an unknown number of strangers sneaked into their unlocked car and carted away valuables including cash.
The estimated loss was approximately RM5,000 including Singapore and Brunei currencies.
The victims lodged a police report at the Miri Central police station.
As at press time, no arrest has been made in connection with the case.— DayakDaily
