Eddie Onn elected Malaysian Plastic Manufacturers Association Sarawak chairman for 2022-2024

KUCHING, April 9: Eddie Onn Hoon Wah of Polytech Plastic Sdn Bhd was elected chairman of the Malaysian Plastic Manufacturers Association (MPMA) Sarawak Branch during its annual general meeting (AGM) and election of office bearers for the term 2022 to 2024 yesterday (April 8).

According to a press release issued today, Onn is joined by Wong Sing Yien as secretary (Unimax Packaging Sdn Bhd), Teo Khing Leng as treasurer (Synplastic Industries Sdn Bhd), Nicholas Siew as internal audit (Fatt Ling Plastic Industries Sdn Bhd), and Lee Kam Loong as public relations cum welfare officer (LNL Industries Sdn Bhd).

Included in the line-up were eight ordinary members, namely Daniel Wong of General Plastic Trading Co, Ngu Piew Hui (Kanma Plastic Material Sdn Bhd), Pang Su Chiean (Borneo Plastics Sdn Bhd), Wong Ying Hwang (Kian Hang Plastic Sdn Bhd), Chong Chung Voon (Sunrise Plastic Manufacturing Sdn Bhd), Alfred Pui (Weidasar Sdn Bhd), Allen Chong Tzek Nen (Hwa Khoon Plastic Industries Sdn Bhd), and Wilfred Teo (Saplastic Industries Sdn Bhd).


The committee also includes Ling Kah We of USMP Industries Sdn Bhd as a nominated member, Stephen Chin (Trienekens Sarawak Sdn Bhd) as an associate member as well as Rebecca Sim Kin Hui (Polyflow Pipes Sdn Bhd) and George Lee He Liong (Elim Industries Sdn Bhd) as advisors.

Onn, who brings with him industry experience of over 18 years, said he would ensure MPMA continues to be the industry’s voice, to strive toward better exposure, growth and industry harmony with the different government agencies and other regulatory bodies.

He also thanked his predecessor Sim and the previous committee for their many contributions, support and guidance.

He also outlined several initiatives and programmes for the upcoming term and is looking forward to implementing the new proposals to strengthen exposure for the association.

The Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association (MPMA), established in 1967, is a progressive trade association providing leadership and quality service to its 750 members, which represent about 60 per cent of the plastics manufacturers in the country and account for 80 per cent of the country’s total production of plastic products and the plastics industry. ― DayakDaily
