DARO, March 26: A house fire in Kampung Semop Daro early this morning completely destroyed a home and an adjacent bird’s nest house, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Fire and Rescue Station (Bomba) Daro received a call at 4.39am and managed to bring the fire under control by 5.20am, with operations concluding at 6.50am.
According to Senior Operations Commander PBK II Ladi Musa, the fire involved a temporary-structure house measuring 30×20 feet and was fully engulfed.
Firefighters deployed one 200-foot hose with two nozzles connected to a hydrant to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring homes. Only minor heat damage, approximately 5 per cent, affected a neighbouring kitchen.
At the time of the fire, three occupants, a 38-year-old woman and her two stepchildren, aged 17 and 13, managed to escape safely. The homeowner’s husband, 35, was at work when the fire broke out.
The cause of the fire and total property loss remain under investigation. — DayakDaily
