MIRI, June 29: A double-storey convenience shop along Jalan Cattleya 4, Piasau was 70 per cent destroyed in an early morning fire today.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Miri Zone 6 acting chief Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee said a distressed call was received at 2.47am and two fire engines from Miri and Lopeng fire stations were despatched to the scene.
The firefighters managed to bring the fire under control by 4.10am, and the operation ended three hours later.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately known. — DayakDaily
