KUCHING, Oct 24: An e-hailing driver pleaded not guilty to a charge of kissing his female passenger on the lips by force.
The 35-year-old accused pleaded not guilty to the charge framed under Section 354 of the Penal Code.
Section 354 of the Penal Code provides maximum imprisonment of 10 years, or with a fine, or with whipping, or any two of the sentences, upon conviction.
Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali fixed Nov 30 for case management and allowed the accused to be released on a cash bail of RM1,000 and with one local surety.
He allegedly kissed the 18-year-old female passenger, who is a university student, with the intention to outrage her modesty when she used the e-hailing service at about 7.30pm on Oct 16.
Prosecuting Officer Inspector Mohd Adzmei Ahmad prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
