KUCHING, Oct 24: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan visited the sites of two projects initiated by the Sarawak government at Kampung Bangkatan and Kampung Patarikan in Merapok, Lawas, on Friday (Oct 21).

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Awang Tengah first visited a water treatment plant at Kampung Bangkatan to ensure the project’s construction ran smoothly.

The project is to ensure that residents in the Lawas district can enjoy clean and treated water supply, especially residents around Merapok.

Meanwhile, Awang Tengah, who is Bukit Sari assemblyman, also went to Kampung Patarikan to monitor the Patarikan Tourism Facilities project.

The project includes the construction of jetties, information centres, kiosks, fireflies and wildlife attraction areas, and a place to carry out giant freshwater prawn fishing activities. — DayakDaily
