MIRI, Nov 13: The lifeless body of a 33-year-old local man was found inside a car parked at an orchard that belonged to his father last night at Kampung Nelayan Batu 5 Kuala Baram here.

Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari when contacted today confirmed receiving a report on the incident.

He added that the body was discovered by the father of the deceased around 9pm.

“He noticed the son, who worked as an e-hailing driver, sitting in the driver’s seat and was unresponsive. He feared that something had happened to him, so the father called the ambulance for help,” said Hakemal.

It was made to understand that earlier that evening, the father went to the orchard from Tudan when he saw his son’s car parked inside the orchard compound.

“When he saw his son inside the car, he assumed that the son was resting so he decided not to disturb him,” said Hakemal.

However, the father became curious when he noticed that his son has not made any movements after a while.

“He decided to approach his son in the car and was shocked to find him unresponsive,” he said.

A police mobile patrol vehicle (MPV) and ambulance arrived at the scene after being informed on the incident.

“Investigators found no foul play and classified the case as sudden death,” Hakemal said.

The body has been taken to the Miri Hospital morgue. — DayakDaily
