KUCHING, May 6: The Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) pays solemn tribute to former Sarawak Governor, the late Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and former Balingian assemblyman Datuk Abdul Ajis Abdul Majeed by observing a moment of silence in their honour.

At the beginning of the sitting today, DUS Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar extended his condolences to the families of the deceased.

Both Taib and Abdul Ajis departed this year, on February 21 and April 26, respectively.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Asfia also granted Dudong assemblyman Dato Sri Tiong King Sing a leave of absence for todayā€™s session in accordance with Standing Order 81. ā€” DayakDaily
