MIRI, Oct 4: Less than nine hours after their brazen act of stealing a motorcycle parked at a supermarket in Krokop 10 yesterday, the two suspects have been detained by the police.
The suspects, both locals in their late 20’s, were apprehended in Pujut Padang Kerbau at around 10pm. Also seized from their possession was the stolen motorcycle.
“They are currently being detained at Miri Central Police station for questioning. Prior to their arrests, the duo were caught on a surveillance camera of the supermarket building, fleeing with the stolen motorcycle,” a source said.
In the CCTV footage, both men were seen standing nearby the motorcycle, which was parked next to the supermarket. After several failed attempts to start the motorcycle, they pushed it out of the parking lot.
A police report has been lodged by the motorcycle owner after the incident.
Acting on the report lodged, police launched a manhunt for the duo and upon receiving a tip-off of their whereabouts, they rushed to Pujut Padang Kerbau area and nabbed the suspects. — DayakDaily
