Driver sustains minor injuries in accident at Jalan Sematan-Lundu

KUCHING, Jan 22: A 34-year-old man suffered minor injuries after losing control of his vehicle and crashed along Jalan Sematan-Lundu, yesterday.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre said, after receiving a report from the Malaysia Emergency Response Service (MERS) 999 informing about the incident at 11.50 pm, nine firefighters from Lundu fire station led by PBK II Pathi Samsudin were rushed to the scene.

“Operation commander arriving at the location reported that the incident involved a single vehicle accident where a sub-compact vehicle had skidded and landed on its side, with the driver pinned inside.


“Following that, firefighters then proceed to rescue the trapped driver, who suffered minor injuries, before he was handed over to the Ministry of Health (MOH) ambulance waiting at the location for further action,” it said in a statement today.

Other agencies involved in the operation were the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela). — DayakDaily
