Driver leaps to safety as lorry skids into ravine

MIRI, Oct 21: A man escaped death after the six-wheeler truck he was driving veered off the road and plunged into a ravine.

The incident happened on Saturday (October 20) around 2pm, near the Bekenu-Marudi junction.


The lorry was heading towards Marudi from Bekenu are.

According to sources, the driver lost control of the lorry as it was going downhill.

However, the driver who is in his 40’s, managed to jump out of the vehicle before it plunged into the ravine and rolled over multiple times.

At the time of the incident, the lorry was not carrying any oil palm fruits.

It was later pulled out from the ravine using heavy machinery. — DayakDaily
