Driver injured, passenger escapes unhurt in Jalan Airport road mishap

KUCHING, Oct 19: A male driver suffered a broken leg while his female passenger escaped unharmed after the former lost control of his sedan vehicle at Jalan Airport here, today.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre revealed a team of 10 firefighters from Bomba Batu Lintang led by PBK II Tahir Tuah was deployed to the location, after receiving an emergency call from the Malaysian Emergency Response Services 999 (MERS 999) at 4.07pm.

“The driver, who suffered from a fractured thigh and his passenger managed to escape safely from the vehicle,” it disclosed in a statement today.


The vehicle is seen turned turtle by the roadside at Jalan Airport, Kuching.

According to the statement, both victims were later handed over to medical staff from the Ministry of Health (MOH) who arrived at the scene for further action.

“The operation ended at 4.39pm after the firefighters ensured that the situation was safe and under control,” the statement read. — DayakDaily
