Driver injured in two-vehicle collision near Sebubu plantation

BINTULU, July 20: A two-vehicle collision occurred this afternoon near the Sebubu Plantation along Jalan Bintulu-Samalaju, approximately 24 kilometres from the Kidurong fire station in Bintulu.

The accident involved a palm oil tanker truck and a Proton Iriz.

The Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a call about the accident at 3.10pm and swiftly responded to the scene.

The operation concluded at 3.50pm.

The collision involved a 36-year-old man driving a Proton Iriz and a 49-year-old man driving a palm oil tanker truck.

Upon arrival, the fire department team assessed the accident area and found the Proton Iriz turned turtle by the roadside following the accident.

The tankerā€™s driver had already helped the injured driver of the Proton Iriz onto the shoulder of the road before the fire brigade’s arrival.

The fire department did not need to carry out any rescue work as the victims had been safely removed from the vehicles.
