SIBU, Sept 24: A driver was injured after the vehicle he was driving collided with a lorry along Jalan Stabau this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said the accident occurred at about 11.30am and involved two male drivers.
Operation commander PBK I Jinny Lenggie said the lorry driver was unharmed, while the driver of a Toyota Avanza sustained injuries.
A team from the Bomba Sibu Jaya Station arrived at the scene at 11.47am and confirmed that neither victim was trapped inside their vehicles.
The injured Avanza driver had already been transported to hospital by a Ministry of Health (MOH) ambulance before firefighters arrived.
As no extrication or rescue work was required, firefighters carried out safety monitoring at the scene and gathered information on the incident.
The operation involved six firefighters and one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and concluded at noon after the area was declared safe. – DayakDaily
