SIBU, Jan 12: The Sibu Divisional Disaster Management Committee is operating a Covid-19 swab testing drive-thru starting tomorrow at the State Library here.
The screening for tomorrow is from 2pm to 4pm. Thereafter it will be from 8am to 4pm daily from Monday to Saturday.
The move is to allow more people to undergo Covid-19 screening.
A statement from the committee said that the screening centre in the foyer of Sibu Indoor Stadium which started yesterday is still operating as usual for “walk in” screening. The screening time is from 9am to 6pm.
Meanwhile Sibu Hospital director Dr Nanthakumar Thirunavukkarasu advised patients seeking consultation at its specialist clinic to make another appointment as the clinic is closed starting today until further notice.
He said the temporary closure of the clinic is because it needed to deploy medical staff to take care of Covid-19 patients in wards.
As of today, the hospital is treating a total of 203 positive cases.
Dr Nanthakumar said patients may make another appointment by calling 084-343333 extension 1173 and 6621 or via WhatsApp at 0111-3317363.
