Dr Teo dropped, 12 new faces among 16 PKR candidates for Sarawak in GE15

MIRI, Nov 1: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has named its candidates for 16 parliamentary seats in Sarawak for the 15th General Election (GE15) with 12 of them newcomers while prominent two-term Miri MP Dr Michael Teo has been dropped from the line-up.

Party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in announcing the Sarawak PKR candidate list today, said the party will field 31-year-old lawyer Chiew Choon Man in Miri.


PKR announced that its Sarawak chairman Roland Engan and deputy Abun Sui Anyit would contest in Baram and Ulu Rajang respectively.

Other PKR candidates are Jaya-Sopian Julahi for the Petra Jaya seat; Diog Dios (Puncak Borneo); Tay Wei Wei (Sri Aman); Langa Lias (Lubok Antu); Patrick Kamis (Betong); Ibil Jaya (Saratok); Mohd Fauzi Abdullah @Joseph (Kanowit); Abdul Jalil Bujang (Mukah); Umpang Salang (Selangau); Khusyairy Pangkas Abdullah (Kapit); Zolhaidah Suboh (Sibuti); Racha Balang (Limbang); and Japar Suyut (Lawas).

Meanwhile, PKR deputy chairman Rafizi Ramli was not present at the event as he is still barred from entering Sarawak.
