KUCHING, July 18: Investors are welcome to contribute to the rejuvenation project to transform the abandoned Ang Cheng Ho quarry, said Deputy Premier of Sarawak Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

“Hopefully, they would be interested in investing into building a semi-submerged hotel,” he said.

In a video posted on his Facebook page to provide an update on the project on July 14, Dr Sim said that the RM15-million project is in its first stage of implementation and involves the construction of a multi-purpose hall that can accommodate 1,000 people, including an innovation hub.

“Once this project is completed, the piling would not be seen because it will be submerged under the lake,” he said.

Dr Sim, who is also Batu Kawah assemblyman, said they are also in the planning stages for the project’s second and third phases.

“Eventually, this place will be a venue to hold water sports and extreme sports,” he added — DayakDaily
