KUCHING, Jan 18: Minister for Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian has tested negative on his first swab test for Covid-19.
Dr Sim in a Facebook post said he has received information from the hospital that his test results for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) swab at the Batu Kawah health clinic yesterday was negative.
In the meantime, Dr Sim who is also 4the Batu Kawah assemblyman said he will be working from home as he is undergoing quarantine for 14 days until January 22.
“Here we go again for the daily remaining Home Stay Order (HSO).
“Home assessment tool form (KKM requirement, familiar from previous quarantines.
“Location reporting (Sarawak government requirement, new policy for home quarantine.
“Work from home,” he said.
Yesterday, Dr Sim went for a Covid-19 screening at the Batu Kawah health clinic after disclosing that he had exposure to a Covid-19 positive patient on January 8.
He added the patient was asymptomatic and tested positive on his second swab test on January 15.
Meanwhile, this is the second time Dr Sim is undergoing home quarantine for Covid-19.
He underwent HSO in April last year after having close contact with Assistant Minister of Transport Dr Jerip Susil who later tested positive for Covid-19 at the time. — DayakDaily
