KUCHING, June 20: Sarawak Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian asserts that in Sarawak, everyone is taking the extra effort to come together in unity, safeguard Sarawakian values, and move forward in pursuit of the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, new economy, green energy, digital era, and so on.
Dr Sim attended the Hindu Cultural Night event yesterday which was organised by the Malaysia Hindu Sangam Sarawak Council at the Hare Krishna Multipurpose Hall in Batu Kawah here, according to a Facebook post today.
“The rest of Malaysia has always had a love-hate relationship with Sarawak.
“They admire our racial harmony, religious tolerance, and respect, but always frown on Sarawakians for not being more like them or following their style of change in West Malaysia,” he stated.
Dr Sim, who is also the Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, also said that it is ironic that in Sarawak, everyone makes extra effort to come together in unity, to be positive in safeguarding Sarawakian values, and to move forward by advancing a clear target of PCDS2030, new economy, green energy, digital era, and so on.
“While in West Malaysia, we see that they frequently find ways to quarrel, to create divisions, to remain stagnant at best and left behind at worst,” he added. — DayakDaily
