KUCHING, May 24: The Kuching Division Health Office is planning to relaunch Petra Jaya Health Clinic to offer limited services for Covid-19 swab tests and quarantine orders due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the city.
Minister for Local Government and Housing Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian revealed the plan via a post on his Facebook page last night.
āPejabat Kesihatan Bahagian Kuching will plan to re-start Klinik Kesihatan Petra Jaya for limited service of PCR Swab and Quarantine Order in view of increase in cases in Kuching for mass screening.
āEvery 10,000 swabs cost approximately RM1 million,ā he said.
Dr Sim added a new food aid assistance programme by the Sarawak government through Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development (KWKPK) for those on 14-day home quarantines will be held at the Kuching Covid-19 One-Stop Centre at MBKS Community Hall soon.
In the meantime, Dr Sim who is also the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor said there were 956 new Covid-19 swabs taken at the said centre, as well as 758 quarantine orders issued as of yesterday (May 23). ā DayakDaily
