Dr Sim: Petra Jaya Health Clinic to resume limited Covid-19 swab tests

KUCHING, May 24: The Kuching Division Health Office is planning to relaunch Petra Jaya Health Clinic to offer limited services for Covid-19 swab tests and quarantine orders due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the city.

Minister for Local Government and Housing Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian revealed the plan via a post on his Facebook page last night.

ā€œPejabat Kesihatan Bahagian Kuching will plan to re-start Klinik Kesihatan Petra Jaya for limited service of PCR Swab and Quarantine Order in view of increase in cases in Kuching for mass screening.

ā€œEvery 10,000 swabs cost approximately RM1 million,ā€ he said.

Dr Sim added a new food aid assistance programme by the Sarawak government through Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development (KWKPK) for those on 14-day home quarantines will be held at the Kuching Covid-19 One-Stop Centre at MBKS Community Hall soon.

In the meantime, Dr Sim who is also the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor said there were 956 new Covid-19 swabs taken at the said centre, as well as 758 quarantine orders issued as of yesterday (May 23). ā€” DayakDaily
