KUCHING, June 11: Batu Kawah assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hin conducted spot checks on two projects in his constituency today.
According to a statement, these two projects are the recently completed drainage system clearing project at Segubang Lorong 1 and Jalan Stone Swallow water supply upgrading project at Lo Ti Kong.
Sim expressed his satisfaction with the two completed projects following the visits.
For the water supply upgrading project, the work of laying water pipes was just completed last week after a slight delay due to the implementation of Movement Control Order.
Following the upgrade, the long-term issue of low water pressure and frequent pipe bursts faced by the residents is deemed resolved. Once the water purifying process is completed and the water is safe to use, the newly installed water pipes will be commissioned.
Meanwhile, the drainage system clearing project is part of the routine clearing project initiated by Dr Sim who is also Local Government and Housing Minister in accordance with residents’ needs. The clearing project has been proven to be effective in mitigating flash floods.
Dr Sim regularly conducts unscheduled site visits to ensure all development projects meet the standard requirements set by the relevant authorities and are free from any defect. — DayakDaily
