KUCHING, Dec 4: “We never underestimate anybody,” says Batu Kawah incumbent Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
That was all he said when asked for comments regarding Sarawak Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) move to field Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii as a candidate in Batu Kawah in the coming polls.
As for opponents aside from Dr Yii, Dr Sim said he could not really tell how many there could be by nomination day.
“I have no idea, really. Because there are so many political parties these days,” he told reporters during a press conference at SUPP Batu Kawah branch here today.
Meanwhile, regarding Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng contesting in Padungan under Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), Dr Sim did not comment much other than Wee will be holding a press conference soon.
“He (Wee) will hold a press conference very soon. So, I’m sure he will present his views (then).
“I cannot speak for him. Let him speak for himself,” said Dr Sim, who is also SUPP president. — DayakDaily
