Dr Sim invites public to Chinese New Year open house in Batu Kawah on Feb 4

Dr Sim is inviting the public to his N14 Batu Kawah Chinese New Year gathering this Saturday.

KUCHING, Feb 1: Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian is inviting the public to join the N14 Batu Kawah Chinese New Year gathering this Saturday (Feb 4) at Batu Kawah Chung Hua community hall from 11am to 2pm.

Dr Sim, who is Batu Kawah assemblyman, said everyone regardless of age, ethnicity or religion are welcome to the open house gathering which is organised by the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Batu Kawah branch chairman Lim Ah Ted together with SUPP MJC sub-branch chairman Sim Yian Chai.

“A warm invitation is extended to all to join us in celebrating the Lunar New Year in Batu Kawah to mark the start of the Rabbit Year.


“We celebrate Chinese New Year the Sarawakian way (with) an open house for all, reflecting Sarawak’s racial harmony and unity in diversity,” he said in a statement today.

There will be a lion dance performance and a buffet lunch will be served.

Organising committee secretary Chew Kim Soon pointed out that the open house gathering will be the perfect avenue to demonstrate Sarawak’s unique spirit.

“People from all walks of life will gather together to celebrate the Lunar New Year,” he added. — DayakDaily
