Dr Sim awarded ‘Datuk Amar’ title as Sagah, Sikie, Julaihi, Naroden now ‘Dato Sri’

KUCHING, Oct 14: Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian leads the list of 1,447 recipients who will be conferred State awards and honours on the occasion of the 87th birthday of Sarawak’s Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.

Dr Sim, who also serves as the Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, will be the sole recipient of the Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang (DA), which carries the title ‘Datuk Amar.’


Nine individuals to be conferred the Panglima Negara Bintang Sarawak (PNBS), which carries the title ‘Dato Sri’, are Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn; Minister in the Premier of Sarawak’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai; Utility and Telecommunications Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi; Federal National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang; former Federal Court judge Tan Sri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie; Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Azam Baki; Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak advisor Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais; Datu Abdul Ghafur Shariff and Dr Qamarul Naim Mohd Faizal.

Ten individuals will be awarded the Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang (PGBK), which carries the title ‘Datuk’.

They are Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Bumiputura Law and Customs) Jefferson Jamit Unyat; Deputy Energy and Environmental Sustainability Minister Dr Hazland Abang Hipni; Deputy Infrastructure Development Minister Ir Aidel Lariwoo; Deputy Public Health, Housing and Local Government Minister Michael Tiang; Deputy Regional Development Minister Martin Ben; Deputy Entrepreneur Development Minister Dr Ripin Lamat; Deputy Community Wellbeing Development Minister Mohamad Razi Sitam; Sarawak Commissioner of Police Dato Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri; Sarawak Energy Group chief executive officer Datu Sharbini Suhaili and Jawan Empaling.

In addition, two non-Malaysians will also received the PGBK namely His Excellency Khalid Ghanim Mohammed Alghaith and Dr Merve Kavakci.

The Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak (DJBS), which carries the title ‘Datu’, will be awarded to Hasmawati Sapawi, Azmi Bujang, Felicia Tan Ya Hua, Economic Planning Unit Sarawak director Lester Matthew, Public Works Department Sarawak director Ir Richard Tajan, Elean Masaát, Ir Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi, Khalidi Ibrahim, Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak director Dr Adrian Susin Ambud, Wong Hee Sieng, and Chiew Chee Ya.

For the Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS), which carries the title ‘Dato’, there are 21 recipients.

They are Federal Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni; Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan; Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau; Paulus Palu Gumbay; Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang, Ustaz Mohamad Trang Isa; Abdul Rahman Sebli Logo @Senusi; Abang Shamsuddin Abang Seruji; Mohamad Ibrahim; Major General Hassan Embong; Abang Affendi Abang Annuar; Halmi Hazmi; Dr Sadiah Abd Samat; Dr Kalwinder Singh Khaira; Syed Mohd Hussain Wan Abdul Rahman; Dr Yeo Tiong Chia; Temenggong Harrison Lading Lunsa; Lt Col (B) Anwar Basha Khan Zakaria; Petros Group chief executive officer Janin Girie; Alhadi Ibrahim and Abang Noordin Abang Zainuddin.

Two individuals will be awarded the Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS), five the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK), two the Johan Perkhidmaan Cermerlang (JPC), 19 the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cermerlang (PPC), 36 Pingat Perwira Negeri (PPB) (Bronze), 51 the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS), 105 the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK), 182 the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB), 196 the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS), 124 the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK), 372 the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) and 299 the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS). — DayakDaily
