Dr Jerip welcome to join PRS — Snowdan

KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) has extended an invitation to Mambong assemblyman Dr Jerip Susil to join the party.

Its Youth chief Datuk Snowdan Lawan said PRS, as one of the largest Dayak-based component party in the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) coalition, is willing to open its doors and welcome the Assistant Minister of Transportation into its family.

“Let it be known that one of the reasons why he left PSB (Parti Sarawak Bersatu) is for the sake of the Dayak Bidayuh community and unity. If unity is his real concern, then we should have no reason to doubt it,” he said in a statement.

Dr Jerip, who was PSB deputy president, resigned from the party on Thursday (July 11).

Snowdan said that Sarawak, where infrastructures such as roads, clean water and health clinics are greatly sought, it is imperative for any elected representatives be associated to a political platform or entity that has the capacity to provide continuous development.

“Almost immediately, all GPS partners have been offering reconciliatory and accommodative remarks for Dr Jerip’s re-entry into the coalition, though there are certain steps and formalities that need to be ascertained prior.

“Again, if all these open gestures of goodwill and reconciliation are made to materialise, it augurs well for Sarawak politics to move forward in one voice in the pursuit to safeguard the Malaysia Agreement 1963,” he continued. — DayakDaily
